SEM Delegation Visits Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University

Cleveland, Ohio, US, April 20th to 23rd—A SEM delegation led by Prof. HUO Jiazhen, Dean of SEM, Tongji University visited Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University (Case) in Cleveland, Ohio, US. Prof. William A. “Bud” Baeslack, Provost of Case, Prof. Mohan Reddy, Dean of Weatherhead School of Management of Case, and Department Chairs and faculty from Banking and Finance, Economics, and Operations Departments met with the SEM delegation and reached a consensus on collaboration of faculty joint research, PhD student joint cultivation, 3+2 dual-degree master programs. This visit further solidifies the strategic long-term partnership between the two schools.
 
Established in 1826, Case is located in the city of Cleveland around Lake Erie (one of the Great Lakes in North America). It is the largest private research-oriented university, from which 16 Nobel Prize winners have graduated since its founding. Case is among the most popular universities in the U.S. due to its research-oriented style and outstanding research achievement. According to US News and World Report’s America’s Best Colleges released in 2010, Case is ranked 41st in the United States, and its management school is accredited by AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Case is one of the very first universities in the US who have launched the program of Organizational Development / Behavior and maintains a leading position in the education of Leadership. Case is ranked 14th for its MBA program and 21st for its EMBA program according to Business Week's latest ranking of MBA Program in 2009; it is ranked 1st in the US for its financial management program according to Business Week's latest 2010 ranking of Finance specialty.
